Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the North Star software applications (the "Apps") and our text-messaging programs, provided by Koastar LLC, doing business as Paul Mitchell Schools North Star Group ("North Star Group", "we", "us"). By accessing or using the Apps, or by opting in to our text messages, you agree to these Terms.
1. Authorized use only
The Apps are private, internal tools for North Star Group. You may use them only if you are a current employee, contractor, or otherwise authorized user (or an enrolled student, for student-facing features), and only for legitimate North Star Group business or educational purposes.
2. Accounts & access
- Access is through your North Star Group Google Workspace account via single sign-on. Keep your credentials confidential and do not share your access.
- Access rights are granted, scoped, and revoked by North Star Group and may change or end at any time, including when your role or enrollment ends.
3. Acceptable use
- Use the Apps in compliance with applicable law, North Star Group policies, and (for education records) FERPA.
- Do not attempt to access data or areas you are not authorized to use, circumvent security or access controls, or interfere with the Apps' operation.
- Do not use the Apps to send unlawful, harassing, or misleading communications, or to export or disclose North Star Group data except as your role permits.
4. Text messaging
If you provide your mobile number and opt in, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from North Star Group at that number for the program you joined — admissions outreach (prospective students) or education communications (enrolled students). Consent is not a condition of enrollment or of any purchase. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle the information involved.
5. Confidentiality & data
The Apps contain confidential information, including prospect, student, financial, and communications data. You must protect it, use it only as your role requires, and handle it in accordance with North Star Group policy and applicable law. Data entered or processed in the Apps remains the property of North Star Group and its data sources.
6. Intellectual property
The Apps, and all associated software, designs, and content, are owned by North Star Group or its licensors. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Apps for authorized purposes only.
7. Third-party services
The Apps integrate third-party services (including Google Workspace, our telecommunications provider, and our accounting and payment providers). Your use of those services through the Apps is also subject to their respective terms.
8. Disclaimer
The Apps are provided "as is" and "as available" for internal use, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, North Star Group will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Apps.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Apps at any time, including for violation of these Terms or when authorization ends.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The effective date above reflects the current version.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the relevant North Star Group campus operates (Washington, Idaho, or Utah), without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
